Making of Shabby Chic Shelf by Ninina-nini Making of Shabby Chic Shelf by Ninina-nini
When working on my papier mache shelf I took some progress photos of it just so I could make a tutorial if anyone would be interested.

So, here it is. My first almost tutorial. Now go and make some shelves, I'm sure you need some :D

This is my finished shelf.

Oh, do link to your makings - I'd love to see them.

me too, that's why i added the concept-challenge. There sure are some awesome ideas out there which are never realized because the person doesn't have the materials. But it would be sad if those ideas would be lost.

So true, some people have ideas but no "hands" to make them real. Well, I'll keep an eye on your contest to see what happens. Did you send a note to #ArtisanCraft you are having this contest?

not yet. usually, *Cayca finds my features and mentions them on her "News + Weekly Gallery Highlight" journal. I might ask her if she could mention the challenge separately.
But I left a message on every Recycle/Upcycle/Eco-Group. And I asked #AnotherContestGroup if they could feature it too.
I think that's all I can do.

Sending a note to groups is your best option because that way they won't miss it.

Thank you. It's really amazing what one can do with paper and glue. And how sturdy it gets.

That sounds good to me! I had purchased a shelf at one of those "home shows" people have and I put an expensive collector's item on it with velcro to make sure it stayed. Well, the shelf and the item came crashing down when it was barely bumped when cleaning. I never bought another small shelf! Yours looks way more durable than an item I purchased! :wow: :faint:

omg, that sounds terrible! I'd be pissed.

Yeah, paper, glue and varnish are a killer combo :D Especially in large quantities.

You have to make at least one now ;)
